Okay. I get it. And like what mom or dad said that you were special when you were growing up because you think you’re different in some way. Well, you’re not. You’re just like everybody else. The reality is that most people don’t make it. They don’t achieve their goals and their dreams. They don’t manage to make it to the success that they want. Everyone watched a motivational video on YouTube but do you really think you’ve got what it takes? Do you really think that you were made of something special, like you’re here for a reason? You’re not.
Reality is, most people I speak to, including you, are not going to make it. You’ve got this big dream but it’s time for you to wake up and get real about this. Because the dream is not there. Give up on your dreams. Forget about them. Just settle for the nine-to-five, like everybody else, and go and get a real job.
I mean how many times do I and everyone else around you have to tell it? How many times do you have to say it to yourself before it’s going to get through your thick head? It’s not going to happen. This dream of being able to do your own thing and live life on your terms, it’s hype. Whatever they sold you, it’s hype. It isn’t going to happen.
The reality is most people are going to do a nine-to-five, like you, are going to do a nine-to-five, just like you. And they’re going to get to the end of their days and they’re going to retire. And most people aren’t going to have enough money left over. Why? Because you’re going to waste it on some stupid crap. But guess what, that’s your life.
So if you’re not happy with that right now, you better get happy with it because you’re going spend most, nearly all the rest of your life getting used to it. And the craziness is that you think that for some reason you are meant to be here for something more. That you think, just because you decided that you wanted to live your dreams, it means you get to do it. Well, guess what? It doesn’t. Because if it was easy, everyone would do it and you don’t have what it takes.
You’re not good enough. You’re not smart enough. You don’t have the work ethic. You’re not disciplined. You sabotage your shit all the time. You just don’t have that edge, and you know that, and you’ve known it for a long time. So it’s time for you to acknowledge it. It’s time for you to acknowledge the fact that you’re just not cut out for this.
There are some people that are born to be successful. There’s some people that are going to make millions. You’re not. Why? Because your parents weren’t successful. Your grandparents weren’t successful. Your brother and sister are probably aren’t even more successful than you are. And if you’ve even still got them…or whoever it is that you’ve got in your life, will always look at you and think less of you than what you potentially could’ve achieved.
Because, guess what? You could’ve done more. Well, you won’t because you decided to stay home. You decided to go and watch a movie. You decided to go out instead of doing the work. Well, guess what? You were never going to make it happen anyway. So it’s better that you give up now and realize that you were never going to amount to anything. It’s better that you realize that now, and that you give up chasing your dreams because it is a pipe dream. It’s nice when you’re in your 20s to play around with this stuff. But, guess what, eventually you’re going to wake up and realize that you wasted a decade of your life on chasing your dreams when you could’ve just got a real job and started climbing the corporate ladder.
You could’ve got serious and started putting money away for a house, so you can get into debt and actually have a mortgage. You could’ve got serious about it but you weren’t serious about it because if you were serious you’d realize that 95% of people who started a business, failed. You’d realize that most people never lived their dreams. That most people end up unemployed, that end up alone, that end up overweight. Most people do that, so you may as well give up your dreams and goals. I’m straight up with you guys.
I know most of the videos I share are positive but this is positively true. That you’re not going to make it. I’m positive you’re going to fuck it up. I’m positive that you’re going to end up being one of the people that wishes they had done more. But, guess what? I’m positive that you never had it in you anyway.
Because if you did, let’s be honest, if you did, you would have gone up already. If you did, your dream would be a reality already. If you did, it would’ve already clicked but it hasn’t. And it hasn’t because it’s not going to. And the sooner we stop kidding ourselves about this, the sooner that you stop thinking you can make your dreams become a reality. That you, somehow, because you were born at this point in time have a better chance of than your parents or grandparents, the sooner you realize that it isn’t all that it was meant to be. That someone sold you on the dream that you can make it happen. Until you realize that, we’re wasting our time.
Because all my other videos are really wasted. They’re wasted because until you realize that everything that I just shared, everything that I just shared has probably gone through your head already. Until you realize that everything that I just shared is everything that’s going to go through your mind and toward your goals and dreams. Until you realized that everything that I just shared is something that your friends are going to think about you, or your parents are going to think about you, or your loved one, your significant other is going to think about you. Until you’ve realized that none of what they actually say is true. Until you realize that all of that stuff is there to distract you from what you were put on the planet to do, your calling, your mission, your purpose.
Until you are willing to absorb the pressure of all that beating down on you again, and again, and again, and again. And still, yet, another day rise up from that adversity and say that, “I don’t care about getting a real job because I wasn’t put here to have a real job. I wasn’t put here to even have a job. Because I didn’t come to have a J-O-B. I came here because I was sent for a purpose. I was sent to change the world. I was sent to be able to live life on my terms. I was given gifts, and talents, and a passion, and an ability that no one else has because I am unique as my own thumbprint. There is no one else like me. And I have some things, some things inside of me left unsaid. Some books not yet written. Some songs not yet sung. Some speeches not yet given. Some insights, some advice, some pieces of concepts, some ideas and inventions that I believe can make a difference. And if they don’t make a difference, well, guess what? It made a difference to me, to even give it a try.”
Until you realize that that’s the truth. Until you are willing to take all of that on board, every single day, for the rest of your life, don’t get started guys. That’s the real truth.
The truth is this, your biggest enemy right now, the biggest enemy to the person watching this video who live inside of your head. And for most nearly everyone of us, we are defeated, here, first. Before we ever step on the battlefield. Some [inaudible 00:06:20], in the art of war said that the general with no enemy inside can have no enemy on the battlefield. Until you learn to win this game, the mental game, the mind game, then everybody out there that doesn’t believe in you…and I promise you that there is going to be many of them. Many of them.
People closest to you, in your darkest moments are going to doubt whether or not you think it’s going to happen. They’re going to ask you when you’re serious about this game called life? And when you’re going to get a real job? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone and spoken to successful entrepreneurs and their parents, and their grandparents, and their loved ones have no freaking idea what they do everyday. They’ve got no idea.
They’re wondering why they left the good jobs that they had before. Why they moved away from good opportunities to pursue their dreams and not making any money. I can’t tell you how many people give up, give up millimeters…a meter from gold. Because, they lose they game up here, first.
Muhammad Ali is the best example I can think of. Most people look at Muhammad Ali and they think of the world champion, the guy that was so vivacious, and charismatic. The guy that had such positive self-talk. He said, “I’ll wrestle with an alligator. I’ll toss a little whale. I’m going to handcuff lightning and throw thunder jail. I’m going to make him look stupid. I’m going to dance.” He used to say this again, and again, and again.
He used to say, “I am the greatest. I said that before anybody else believed I was.” He used to say that. Why? Why was it Muhammad Ali had such incredible positive self-dialogue? Well, guess what? He understood the mental game. But he mostly understood this. That his own internal dialogue was incredibly negative.
You do some research on Muhammad Ali, Cassius Clay, as he used to be known. And you’ll realize that he has such incredibly negative self-dialogue. Every single day he would tear himself apart upstairs. And it struggled him so much to get into the field or play. And what he realized was that until he’d win this game, until he won this game, nothing else mattered. And so he would be incredibly over the top. Why? To try and smother, to create an avalanche of positivity that would just ruin any scrap of negativity that still existed.
You’ve got to have such an incredible body image, such an incredible mental image, such an incredible spiritual desire that when you look in the mirror you say, “Bring it on you sexy beast.” You’ve got to have such an incredible sense of positivity that when you mess it up you say, “Bring it on again, because I did so well last time. I want some more please.”
You’ve got to have the level of positivity inside of your life that is unshakable. And it can’t come from just a pick me up. It can’t come from a motivational video. You’ve got to be able to win this game up here. And you win by understanding that there is only one fundamental truth.
Only one fundamental truth, and that truth is your truth. It’s what you believe you were here for. Not what you think. Not what you feel. Not what someone told you in a seminar or a book. But what your truth is. What you were put on the planet to do. And before you tell me what that is, I call bullshit. Because you do know. You’re just too afraid to ask the question and sit in the fire long enough to wonder what the answer is.
You do know why you’re here. We all do. But most of us never ask the question. Most of us that do say, “I don’t know.” Before we’ve got the words out of our mouth. I dare you to sit there for long enough, in silence with yourself and ask yourself, what are you here to do? And hear all the bullshit answers about why you’re not meant to do anything, or why you should give up, or why you should go get a drink, or why you should? “This is a stupid activity. Why did that Calvin guy even do it? He’s an idiot. He doesn’t even know what he’s talking about.”
I dare you to sit down long enough for the voice inside of your soul to whisper to you, “Your purpose is…this. You’re here to do…this.” And what happens for most nearly everyone of us is, when that voice speaks, we doubt it. We second guess it, and we attack it because it couldn’t be that easy. It couldn’t be as simple as me just sitting somewhere, Calvin, for a moment and asking myself what I want to do with my life, could it? Yes.
But while we have a busy mind. While we have a noisy mind. A mind that is tearing us apart. And while we’re listening to the comments, and the feelings, and the beliefs, and the opinions of other people…one of my good friends always says, “Don’t take advice from broke unhappy people.” And oftentimes, in our mind, we are a broke unhappy person.
The ego stops growing at five-years-old. The voice inside your head is a five-year-old child that’s afraid. That doesn’t know if you can make it happen. And the only way that it knows to be able to support you in keeping safe is to try and tear you apart from even starting. Because if you don’t try, then at least you can’t fail. And you could always sell yourself from the biggest concept, “Well I could’ve done more.” You can’t do more. You either do it or you don’t. You’re pregnant or you’re not. You’re successful or you’re not. That’s it. And that comes down to you stepping up and owning your truth. What you were put here to do.
No one can argue with that. No one can debate that. And if they do have an opinion, well good on them. Because, whatever people think of you is none of your goddamn business. Guys, that’s the truth of this video.
So, yes, you should quit following and chasing your dreams and go and get a real job. And that real job is not about chasing your dreams, or following your dreams, or figuring out what you want to do with your life. It is about you stepping into the truth, that you already know it and start living it.
Your full-time job should be living that. Breathing it every single day. And if you don’t do something with your life every single day that makes somebody else’s life better, you are wasting your time. So, yes, I want you to quit chasing your dreams and step into them right now. And yes, I want you to get a real job. It’s called, what you were put on the planet to do. Because everything else is a distraction.
Share this video with somebody that needs to start chasing their dreams and start living a real life and start having a real job. Start sharing this video with more people because this video is the video that we all need to watch. Because until we’ve figured this out, depression is not going to be the same. Anxiety is always going to be the same. We’re going to have all of the people in the world today that could do more, that won’t because they’re focused on doing what everyone else does, instead of focusing on what they were here for. That’s all I’ve got for you guys who are going to live life on your terms.
